Doris Foxwell

Having spent thirty years traveling with her husband during his Navy Career Doris had the opportunity to study art in various places, including Tidewater College in Virginia Beach, Old Dominion University in Norfolk, and two years at the College of Charleston, in South Carolina.

During a three year tour in Sasebo, Japan, she studied with Moriyamasan, a renowned Japanese Artist. Doris has exhibited with the Sasebo Artist Association, the Charleston (S.C.) Arts Guild, and the Virginia. Beach Center for the Arts. Her exhibits have included juried and invitation art shows.

After moving to the Shenandoah Valley, Doris joined the Shenandoah Valley Artist Association and VECCA. She has exhibited at the Edinburg Mill from 1985 until 1991, and at Gallery 201 in Edinburg, Va. from 1992 until 2007.

Working in watercolor, pastel and oil, Doris creates realistic scenes of nature. Her originals and limited edition prints can be seen at 7 East Art Gallery in Woodstock, Va. You can call Doris at 540-984-9562
